This is a news magazine that is popular for its ranking of colleges and universities according to programs, education level, and location. US News & World Report also has lists of the best colleges and universities all over the world.

The news magazine came up with this list of the best psychology programs following a unique method. Psychology, being part of the social science programs, were ranked based on peer assessment. How does peer assessment work? Surveys were conducted with department heads and directors of graduate studies as subjects. They were asked to rate the quality of the psychology programs of various schools from outstanding to marginal. The best psychology schools then received scores between 4.3 and 4.7.Stanford University and University of California – Berkeley both received a score of 4.7.
